Shortlists for ordinary afternoons
A good shortlist has a shared scale. Mixing “write a book” with “drink water” rarely helps. Try one of these balanced sets and edit it for your day.
A ten-minute reset
- Walk around the block
- Stretch away from the desk
- Read ten pages
- Make a cup of tea
Remove anything that is not practical where you are. A break should feel possible immediately.
Find the first domino
- Clear the work surface
- Write a three-line outline
- Reply to one simple message
- Set a ten-minute focus timer
Spin once, finish the action, then reassess. You do not need to plan the whole day on a wheel.
A quiet evening
- Play one board game
- Read together for twenty minutes
- Take a short neighborhood walk
- Cook a familiar dinner
Agree on the choices before spinning with other people. The wheel should settle a tie, not override someone’s boundary.
Add your shortlist. The guide explains removal mode for lists you want to finish in order.
